With hundreds of CDs introduced to the public monthly, the look of a musician's presentation is almost as important as the quality of the music. For the independent musician, creating a CD and marketing materials from scratch can be overwhelming.
BauWau (bow-wow like a dog) Design is a one-stop shop for musicians, independent labels and publicists. A company created by a musician for musicians, BauWau understands the enormous task of recording, mixing, mastering and manufacturing a CD. Too often however, a great recording is hidden behind an amateur CD package.
Since starting BauWau Design, I've created more than 200 CD and cassette packages, from simple j-cards to 20-page CD booklets, for jazz, classical, R&B, blues, hip-hop, theatrical and comedy performers. To help clients sell their products, I've produced dozens of support pieces like websites, fliers, brochures, logos, business cards, advertisements, and press kits.
As a specialist I offer more efficient service, reasonable rates and experience working with many manufacturers and printers in the U.S. and Canada. And as a working jazz musician I have a unique rapport with the recording artist.
With experience and the understanding that only musicians can share, I work closely with my clients to achieve the “big-label” look necessary for survival in this business. After all, musicians should only have to worry about the most important part – the music.
